Business History

TGS Homes has been rooted from TGS Construction, a company that has been building small commercial and upscale custom homes in the Carson Valley since 1985. Ran meticulously by Tom Smith, he constructed an impeccable company and team. Sadly came his passing in 2019. Surviving and continuing his legacy is daughter, Alise Carrasco. With devotion and drudgery we bring you TGS Homes, a new modernized company with the same foundation Tom Smith built long ago. Joining forces and coalescing the TGS team, is Alise Carrasco and Geza Bartos. Geza has been constructing on luxury homes in the Lake Tahoe area and brings a great eye and skill to the team.

What we put in every custom home:

  • Engineering tested and 98% building pad in all homes

  • Extra strength concrete in footings and stem walls

  • All exterior walls are insulated with the Optima insulation blanket with interior vapor barrier and true DuPont Tyvek exterior air filtration barrier

  • Every interior wall is insulated for sound and heat/energy efficiency. Ceilings are insulated with R50, and garage is completely insulated.

  • All drywall is 5/8" thick fire rated drywall, which is highest quality.

  • Hidden fire sprinklers throughout every house.

  • Lifetime Tri-Laminate roofing material.

We strive for excellence and only use Made in America products, materials, and tools. All sub contractors are locally here in the Carson Valley.
